“ We had an amazing experience at Prohibition! The atmosphere is modern, yet laid back. The perfect spot for a date night or with friends! The shareables were such a fun way to eat dinner and when I say you cannot go wrong ordering anything off the menu, believe it! We tried almost everything and it was all unbelievable. Their drink selection is great too! The staff was friendly and attentive - we truly had the best time! ”
“ If you’re looking for a good place for brunch, I’d say you found it. The service is wonderful and the food is delicious. We happened to go on a day where they had live music in the main part of the restaurant. The deviled eggs were delicious and so were the sandwiches. ”
“ Comfortable warm and historic atmosphere, lively but not loud. Great location in the food and entertainment downtown. Just walked a few blocks from our hotel. We made reservations and were greeted and seated quickly. A signature cocktail before dinner was a delight. Food is served easily shareable (tapas style). The Caesar salad was amazing. It was the croutons for me. Salmon spread on delicious crackers. Scallops cooked to perfection and served with a lively dry white wine. Fun perfectly sized banana creme pie for dessert. Great experience. We loved it. Our server forgot to include the wine on the bill. Since we mentioned that we got two free glasses of champagne. ”
“ Grabbed lunch here with the family. All the food we had was very good. It was busy but service was still excellent. ”
“ Intro: My family & I are here in Charleston on vacation to celebrate 2 birthdays. In short, being in a new environment within a busy city in itself is already chaotic for me being former military. Our experience with previous restaurants have not been the greatest. Customer service: Moments of stepping into Prohibition, Morgan (who we later learned is the Manager) greeted us with a very welcoming smile. Succeeded our needs by taking the time to walk to the outside seating to determine availability. Instantly we were amazed because the previous restaurants had us check seating availability ourselves. Upon sitting down, Lyric (sp) our server checked in on us with water ready. She informed us that Morgan offered us mimosas to make up for our experience wanting to reassure us that we enjoy our time here in Charleston. Lyric’s first question was to insure the party did not have allergies before recommending food options. Food: I could not wait to get to this part, the food is a work of art. Taste just as good as they looked. I do not take pictures of my food but in this case, I had to let everyone of my friends know how great the food was. The sous chef, John new to his position did a phenomenal job. Clearly shows that he is passionate about what he does. My brother is a Michelin chef, earning stars for several restaurants in NYC I understand the difficulty of his position. The food we ate: Deviled Eggs -we already knew we had to order two Charred wings -I am a wing guy; the rub, the texture, presentation far succeeded my expectations French toast -Sister in law was craving a sweet breakfast, the subtle sweetness did not overwhelm her as one would assume French toast would be very sweet Pork belly tacos -My wife wouldn’t normally finish her food (great for me) but she didn’t leave a single scrap for me. The pork was moist texture, flavorful & fulfilling Chicken & biscuit -I don’t believe my brother in law was able to taste his food with the way he scuffed it down Fried rice (not exact name) -Amazing portion, I do eat rice everyday & for this restaurant to accommodate everyone’s needs to include mine is a rarity in the restaurant business Thank you so much for an amazing experience, this is a restaurant that I can bring back home to talk about. Will definitely come back next visitation ”
“ Great dinner tapas style. My top two favorites that we tried were pierogis and bone marrow. Absolutely delicious. Drinks were good too. Perfect for a nice date night then going out after One thing I will say is that we had a later reservation, like 8. Then at like 10 they told us we had to move from our table because they were creating a dance floor. The place turns into like a club at night. We ended up just hanging out at the back patio to finish our drinks but I don't recommend a late reservation if you want to hang out for a while. Everything else was great though!! ”
“ Came for the Halloween pop up. Wish they would have extended the fun throughout the entire space...maybe next year. Really enjoyed the themed cocktail selection and they tasted great! The real winner here was the smoked beef tartare. Holy F that was good! I had no idea and very low expectations but I was honestly blown away! It may have been my favorite tartare ever! That's saying a lot. We also opted for the lobster roll and again it did not disappoint at all. As someone who has lived in Maine this thing was top tier. We had no plans to actually eat here but I'm so glad that we decided to grab a table. This isn't just a place to grab a drink and hangout anymore this is definitely getting added to the dinner / quick bite rotation. PS Alex M might be my favorite person ever! That golden beard brings me joy! ”
“ The service was excellent, the food was fabulous. What we expected was a tourist trap place to eat. Not true with this place. You are missing out on a great experience. The Brussel Sprouts were outstanding. Take it from a Tapas Foodie. Do not pass this place up !! ”
